Christianity is the New Age Religion

If you have read any of what I have written I believe it is abundantly clear that I believe, and I believe the Bible supports me, that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life and a life eternally in peace, joy and happiness.

Why do I say this? It is not smug arrogance that I know a secret that noone else knows nor is it based on a brainwashing or crazy “guy in the sky”.

It is because I have read and learned about many other religions or beliefs and none come close to the truth of Jesus Christ. Notice I say “truth of Jesus Christ”. This is because not every Church, not every person who claims to be a pastor or Christian knows or preaches the truth about who Jesus Christ is. While I don’t think this is intentional it is a major result of man’s brokenness.

In reality there are many people who will proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord to whom He will declare to them “23 … ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” Matthew 7:23 ESV.

What a shock this will be to hear from the mouth of the One that so many have believed in for so long.

Yes, I say that Jesus Christ is the only way as a result of 2 major reasons.

First of all, among other Scriptures, Romans 12:2 ESV states, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

The Word of God has said to not chase those things that say they offer happiness and meaning but instead to remain steadfast in the Word that is Christ Jesus. Only a brief examination of the world and culture shows that the world shifts so rapidly and also… wait for it… the majority is not always right.

Why do I say this? Because, if the majority of the population wanted to make permissible something which is currently seen as abominable, would you be ok with it? What if a certain population, city, territory, state or other set boundary of constituents, agreed that killing a baby during its delivery or when it was on the delivery table was acceptable? I’m not talking about a mother’s choice while the child is inside her body, that is different.

No. Here I am talking about after delivery.

Well it may surprise you to know that certain jurisdictions in America have legalized aborting, killing, a baby AFTER it has been delivered. That is right, after the mother has delivered and is healthy and after the baby is delivered and is healthy, they can now legally kill it.

Is this right to do even if the majority say yes? I would hope that some people would stand up and say no, that is wrong, we must object.

This is what Romans 12:2 is talking about. The world, culture, society will forever be changing. The Bible is not against change, however, it is against change that distracts and removes Jesus from the change. If change was bad then why would the Word constantly talk about a changing of heart, having a renewed mind and having new and different desires. Because, change is good, however the world does not always get it right. More often, it is wrong.

The only One who does get it right is Jesus Christ and the Holy Scriptures which tell us this.

I am hoping this simple truth has sparked something inside you. If not, I want to share 1 more truth.

No other worldview offers a message of free grace and free salvation for eternal life. Grace by definition is unmerited favour of God given freely, that is without works, to those who receive it.

Every other worldview has some type of salvation which is dependent either fully or in part on what the followers do or do not do.

With Jesus this simply is not so. Jesus, God, left heaven and came to earth in order to share this message. He shared it, preached it, prayed it and demonstrated it numerous times as recorded in this historical document ‘The Holy Bible’, yes historical as all the research done (by believers and unbelievers alike) confirm Jesus was real, the events were real and His ministry existed. The stumbling block is whether or not the miracles were in fact real, especially the resurrection of Jesus after 3 days.

If you can believe that Jesus rose on the 3rd day to sit at the right hand side of God, then, there is no denying that Jesus truly is the only way.

From my experience I know that countless people believe in Jesus, however, they don’t like the feeling that they may need to give up some things that they enjoy. For example, I have heard many times, “I believe in Jesus, but not the one who controls me. I don’t need Him to tell me how to be good or bad, I know the difference,” or something similar to this.

The difference being, God the Father and the Creator of you and I, knows what is indeed keeping you in shackles and what needs to change in order to give you freedom.

Essentially, everyone knows that the 10 Commandments are written by God or from a Christian worldview and nearly everyone agrees with them.

Don’t murder, easy. Don’t steal, no problem. Honour your mother and father, yea I can agree. Don’t lie about your neighbour or covet what they have, harder to do but understandable. Don’t commit adultery, sometimes challenging but agreed.

These are not all 10, yet, I bet you would be hardpressed to find someone who thought that doing those I mentioned would be a good idea.

So I ask you, why then if God’s commandments are designed to keep us free from sin do we feel so opposed to God’s freedom?

Do we know better than the One who created us, created the world and in doing so created everything about us includig our ability to have a relationship with Christ and in turn with the Father.

Are we against Him because we want an easier, less sacrificial way? Maybe. Do we seek to do less and gain more? Possibly.

Simply put, Jesus says, come to Me, believe Me and only Me and I will give you freedom. If this is not what you have ever heard from a Christian before then know I am honoured to share the truth with you. There is of course a larger, more in depth discussion to be had, however, the truth of the matter is Jesus is the ONLY God to offer freedom and forgiveness… for free… forever. For this, of course, He was beaten, mocked and crucified.

The world’s new age beliefs, religions, options may look good and look easier and be sound better, however, I hope you have been inspired to look into my point of view, indeed, God’s point of view.
